Summer Workshop: Plant Label making

In this workshop you will be taught how to make up to 12 ceramic plant labels. You will be taught how to roll out clay, cut the clay to size and imprint the plant names. You will be shown different designs and will be able to choose to decorate and label to fit with your own planting needs. The ceramic labels will be glazed and fired twice so they will be frost proof and can be used year after year – a sustainable alternative to plastic labels. (Note. labels will be left with us at the end of the session to be dried, fired, glazed and fired again. This will take around 2-3 weeks and they can then be collected).

All materials provided. Bring a list of the names of the plants you would like to make labels for.

Skill level

Suitable for all. No experience needed working with clay. Over 16s only.

Travel

High Brooms railway station is approx. 15 minutes walk from the studio and provides direct train links to London and the South East. There is a metered car park (Yew Tree road) located 5 minutes walk from the studio, and some on street parking is available. London Road has regular bus services from Tunbridge Wells, Tonbridge and surrounding areas. 

Accessibility
