About the Event

What You Will Learn

In this workshop, Holly will guide you to make a waistcoat smock with button fastening and pockets.

The design has been inspired by historic utility wear and artists aprons.  There are several options for pockets and lengths to meet the needs of the wearer. It can be worn for creative pursuits or as everyday wear.

You will have the choice of several different colours of medium-weight organic cotton twill cloth (Oeko-Tex Certified).

Key skills;

1. Arranging pattern pieces for efficient cutting

2. Preparing pockets

3. Flat felled seams

4. Garment assembly

5. Buttonholes

6. Pressing and hand finishing

Having been introduced to the process and steps to make your waistcoat, you will take away your pattern pieces and garment to enable you to make the garment again at home.
